Okay so firstly, I apologise for my absence from the blogosphere lately! I’ve had a horrible few months and I just haven’t felt like sharing anything with the world! On November 21st I was told I would be losing my job at the end of the year. I took this pretty hard as I’ve been in the same job since I was 16! It was my first ever job and I slowly worked my way up. I had a really close relationship with my colleagues so it wasn’t very nice! When the closing down process began, everything got manic and I had no time for anything! Anyway, long story cut short, we closed up for the last time on the 23rd december. I still miss the place every day 😦
So rambling over, here is my outfit from yesterday!
Cardigan- New Look £12.99
Jeggings- New Look £9.99
Cami- Hollister (few years old)
p.s my phone case in this picture holds a small clue to what post might be coming soon! 😉
I just love this scarf! I got it from my work in our closing down sale for just £3 (along with about 20 other scarves!)
So there we go, a little outfit post to ease me back into blogging ha ha!
This week has been just horrible!
You may have been reading in the papers/ seen on the news that Tie Rack is closing all its UK stores before the end of the year. Well I work in one of those stores and I’ve been made redundant.
Not many people say they love their job, but i genuinely do. I’m absolutely gutted! It’s been so hard to take the news and I’m really gonna miss everyone when we all leave.
Of course now we are in closing down sale, the place has gone mad, especially with it being so close to Christmas! Therefore, please forgive me if there are very few posts between now and christmas! I’m working a lot of hours at the moment!
So what is the point in this post you may ask? Well I’ve been reading lots of news articles about the closing of Tie Rack. Many people blame it on men not wanting to dress smart anymore. Other people say online competitors are killing us. And I’ve seen the tweet “who even wears a tie anymore?” about 300 times!!
This has angered me so much! People don’t seem to realise Tie Rack is not just a tie shop! We sell jewellery, scarves, hats, gloves for both men and ladies! And the accessories are all gorgeous and very on trend! It is so upsetting to see people who think it is just a tie shop!
I’d love to know what you think about this! Have you ever shopped in Tie Rack? Do you think it’s true that men don’t want to dress smart anymore? And what do you think about the potential death of the high street due to online sales? Leave me a comment below! 🙂
After my many shopping sprees in the last few weeks, my wardrobe was looking a little bit too full so on my day off I decided to have a big clear out! I’m going to be selling some of the clothes I’m parting with, on ebay over the weekend so I’ll post a link to my ebay at some point this week!
Here is what my wardrobe looked like before my clear out!
This is a highly embarrassing sight, I’m sure you will agree! I can’t believe I let it get so messy.
Below is how it now looks, after filling 3 bin bags of unwanted clothes!
Much Better!! You will notice I have one whole shelf full of just scarves! I love scarves and think they can completely change a plain outfit. During my 5 years working in Tie Rack I’ve built up quite a collection, as you can see!
Hopefully my wardrobe will stay looking this tidy from now on!
When was the last time you had a good wardrobe clear out?
If you didn’t know before, I work for an awesome accessories company called tie rack. This post is all about my pick of the best items in this years autumn/winter collection! (there were far too many pretty things to choose from but I managed to narrow it down to four!)
If you don’t know what a serape is, then listen up! These amazing items are basically a large shawl but they are honestly so cosy and will keep you warm all winter! The leopard print and fur combination is very on trend for this year! And this one even comes with little arm holes on the side to make this look like an oversized cardigan when wearing it! (another on trend item for this year). I plan to wear this lots and as it gets colder i’ll start wearing a long sleeved t-shirt under it to keep me a bit warmer!
Because there are so many amazing patterns and colours to choose from in this year’s range of serapes, i couldn’t just pick one so I also had to get this cute tartan one! Tartan is another print that is going to be massive this winter so I’m really looking forward to wearing this! Keep an eye out for some future posts showing you how to look amazing wearing these!
I am a big fan of pashminas as they are such a versatile product (I must own one in every colour imaginable!) Tie rack pashminas are a great size for doing so many different things with them! I bought this one as it’s a lovely burgundy colour so it will go with all the burgundy items I’ve been buying lately!
And finally, I just love this scarf! Everything about it is perfect! I’ve not been able to get a tartan scarf for many years because I’m allergic to wool and I’ve only ever seen wool ones! But this one is made of acrylic so I know it’s not going to irritate my skin. I had this scarf out on a test run to the shops last night and it kept me nice and cosy in the cold breeze! I don’t think I will have this scarf off during winter this year! It looks amazing with so many different colours!
That is my top 4 favourite items from Tie Rack’s Autumn Winter Collection so far! Look out for more posts about this. I’m sure there are plenty more amazing items waiting to come into stores!
What do you think about these products? How would you wear a serape? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
It was my 21st birthday party at the weekend so I thought I would share some photos of my party outfit.
It was a garden party, hence a more casual look than you might be expecting.
